Operation

  • Lay the kit out on a desk and count it: demonstration metre rule, protractor, compass and two set squares. Remove the protective film from the working edges if present.
  • Inspect the working edges of the rule and the set squares: check them for straightness, smoothness, burrs and waviness. Check the legibility of the scales: read off every centimetre division on the rule and every degree division on the protractor.
  • Check the compass: the legs must open evenly and hold the set spread, and the clamp must hold chalk or a marker without turning.
  • Make sure the board surface is metal, dry and clean, and that the magnetic inserts are free of chalk dust and metal filings.
  • Metre rule: press it to the board with the magnetic block and lead the chalk or marker along the working edge without sideways pressure. Segments of a given length are set off along the 1 cm scale; the same scale is used to read the length of segments drawn on the board, aligning the zero mark with the start of the segment.
  • Protractor: align the centre mark with the vertex of the angle and the zero division with one side of the angle, then press the instrument to the board. The angle value is read where the second side crosses the scale; the 1 degree division allows angles from 0 to 180 degrees to be constructed and measured to within one degree.
  • Set squares: used to construct perpendiculars and parallel lines. One edge is placed against an existing line and the new line is drawn along the other; parallel lines are drawn by sliding the set square along the fixed metre rule. The same set squares set off angles of 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees without a protractor.
  • Compass: fix chalk or a marker in the clamp and set the leg spread against the scale of the metre rule. Place the supporting leg at the centre and draw the circle in one continuous movement, holding the compass by its upper part.
  • After the work, remove the instruments from the board, wipe off the chalk dust, fold the compass legs and return the whole kit to its storage place.

Safety

  • Use the product only for the purpose described in the passport; students work with it under the supervision of a teacher.
  • Recommended for learners aged 10 years and older (grade 5 and above) in general secondary education institutions.
  • Close the compass needle with a cap or fold the legs after the work; do not leave the compass on the desk with the legs open and the point upwards.
  • Keep the magnetic block away from bank cards, mechanical watches, measuring sensors and other items sensitive to a magnetic field.
  • Remove an instrument from the board by lifting it at the edge rather than dragging it along the surface, so the magnetic inserts do not collect metal dust or scratch the board.
  • Do not use the set squares as a pointer and do not lean on them: a large plastic set square breaks at the vertex of the acute angle.
  • Protect the product from impacts, falling, excessive mechanical loads, moisture, direct sunlight and heaters.

Maintenance

  • Wipe the instruments free of chalk dust with a soft dry cloth after every lesson; if needed, wash the plastic with warm water and a neutral detergent and wipe dry. Do not use abrasive powders, alcohol or other solvents: they erase the divisions and the scale figures.
  • Regularly clean the magnetic inserts of metal filings and chalk dust, otherwise the instrument sits loosely on the board and scratches it.
  • Periodically check that the threaded clamp of the compass holds chalk and marker securely.

Storage and Transport

  • Storage temperature: +5 °C to +40 °C, relative humidity 60 percent, non-condensing, in a dry, clean, ventilated room protected from direct sunlight, moisture, dust and heat sources.
  • Operating conditions: air temperature +5 °C to +40 °C, relative humidity 40 to 60 percent, atmospheric pressure 84 to 107 kPa.
  • Keep the kit hung up or laid on a flat horizontal surface. Do not leave the rule and the set squares leaning against a wall at an angle and do not place heavy objects on them: thin plastic takes a permanent bend and the working edge stops being straight.
  • The product is supplied packed in the manufacturer's packaging; during transport, protect the packing from precipitation and impacts.

Compliance and Disposal

  • The product complies with the general product safety requirements established by European Union legislation.
  • The product is not electrical or electronic equipment, therefore the WEEE marking does not apply to it.
  • The product contains no hazardous substances and is disposed of as municipal solid waste after separation by material.

Warranty

  • Repair of defects and replacement of defective parts or covered equipment for three (3) years.
  • Availability of spare parts and consumables for five (5) years.

Working with UNOWA was a turning point for our university. Their expert-led training in ABA, ADOS-2 and MIKKO reshaped how we think, teach, and prepare inclusive educators. The model inclusion classroom they equipped has become a living lab, a space where theory becomes hands-on skill. This partnership didn’t just support a project. It laid the foundation for a more humane, modern and inclusive education system in Kazakhstan.
