Working Principle

The working principle of soil moisture sensors primarily involves detecting the water content in soil to determine its moisture level. These sensors utilize microelectronic technology and electrochemical principles to measure soil moisture by detecting changes in electrical conductivity or dielectric constant. When soil moisture varies, the electrical conductivity or dielectric constant of the water in the soil also changes accordingly, and the sensor measures this variation.

Measurement Capabilities

Range: 0–100 %

Resolution: 0.1 %

Structure and Features

  1. Equipped with a 1.8-inch color LCD screen.
  2. Configured with 5 functional buttons for simple and convenient operation.
  3. Supports high-speed USB data transfer for rapid communication with data loggers.
  4. Enables wireless communication with experimental terminals.
  5. Features a built-in large-capacity removable battery.
  6. Includes a snap-on sensor interface, compatible with standard sensors for combined experiments.
  7. Provides fixed mounting points for attachment to iron stands, facilitating integration with traditional equipment.

Typical Applications

Soil moisture sensors are common instruments used for soil testing, measuring soil moisture and temperature. They are applicable in agriculture, horticulture, environmental monitoring, and other fields.

Note

This product is suitable for educational purposes only and is not intended for industrial, medical, research, or commercial applications.

Usage Tips

  1. The measurement data of soil moisture sensors may be influenced by factors such as ambient temperature. Therefore, environmental conditions like sunlight and geographic location should be considered when interpreting readings.
  2. Regular calibration is required to ensure measurement accuracy. Calibration should be performed using standard soil moisture and temperature values. The recommended calibration interval is one month, though this may be adjusted based on usage conditions.

Working with UNOWA was a turning point for our university. Their expert-led training in ABA, ADOS-2 and MIKKO reshaped how we think, teach, and prepare inclusive educators. The model inclusion classroom they equipped has become a living lab, a space where theory becomes hands-on skill. This partnership didn’t just support a project. It laid the foundation for a more humane, modern and inclusive education system in Kazakhstan.
